Linklaters LLP has over 350 lawyers practising in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and Thailand and the firm has been active in Asia for over 30 years. In 2000 it established a joint law venture with the prestigious Singapore law firm Allen & Gledhill and has acted for some of the region’s most significant banks and companies. Linklaters Allen & Gledhill provides four partners from their Singapore team for three of our chapters – capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and project finance.

The capital markets team was praised for its “visible practice, which focuses on high-end deals” and Kevin Wong and Dean Lockhart represent the firm in this chapter. According to contributors, Wong is a “star” in debt capital markets and he advises issuers and underwriters in a wide range of international capital markets and structured finance transactions throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Lockhart recently joined the firm’s Singapore office from Hong Kong, with a “stellar reputation,” especially for convertible bonds work throughout Asia.
Richard Good performed well in the research for the mergers & acquisitions chapter and is well respected. The project finance chapter is home to Martin David, who is well known among his peers for his work in the energy and construction sectors. Prior to entering private practice David was a civil engineer and is comfortable with the most complex projects. David rounds off a notable showing for the firm.
