Biography: Competition
Harumichi Uchida is a senior partner of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto (formerly Mori Sogo), having joined the firm in 1973. Mr Uchida specialises in corporate and commercial matters, with particular focus on mergers and acquisitions; intellectual property, media and telecommunications; competition; and international arbitration.He is an adjunct professor at Keio University Law School in Tokyo (professor, from 2003 to 2007) and is also active in international legal associations such as the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (former secretary general) and LAWASIA (former country counsellor). He is president of Japan Competition Law Forum (2010 - present). He is also a member of the round table council of JFTC, and a member of the international task force of the ABA's antitrust law section.
Mr Uchida is a graduate of the University of Tokyo (LLB, 1970) and New York University School of Law (LLM, 1979). He is admitted to the Bar in both Japan and New York.
