Graduated from Universidad La Salle, he was admitted to practise in Mexico in 1980. His postgraduate study is a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Tulane University, New Orleans, US.
He has written articles in law and business publications and participated as invited speaker on the North America Free Trade Agreement, M&A and foreign investment in Mexico, and in various conferences for the International Bar Association.
He has been recognised by Chambers Global as one of the leading attorneys in Mexico for M&A for the past two years, and by The International Who's Who of Merger and Acquisition Lawyers, 2007. He is co-chair of the Latin American Forum of the International Bar Association, having participated as lecturer in various conferences, and also board member of the ICC Mexico, The University Club and the Institute of Mexican Financial Executives (IMEF). He participated with the Latin American Forum in the organisation of the first Latin American conference held in Mexico City and the first conference of the Americas, as well as other events.
He is the chairman of the Mexican chapter of the Friends of the John Paul II Foundation, and a trustee member of the IBA Trust Foundation, and the Basham, Ringe y Correa Pro Bono Foundation.
