Markus Affentranger is a partner of Baker & McKenzie and member of the banking and finance practice group in the Zurich office, where he co-heads the debt financing group. He has more than 20 years of experience and handles domestic and international debt finance transactions, with a focus on acquisition finance - including real estate acquisition finance - as well as syndicated loans. His practice also focuses on Swiss financial market regulations on which he mainly advises foreign clients. He serves as lecturer on acquisition finance at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and on bank contracts at the Swiss training centre for investment professionals.

Markus Affentranger graduated in 1982 and obtained his doctorate in 1987 from the University of Zurich Law Faculty. He was admitted to the Zurich Bar in 1989. Markus Affentranger worked with Pritchard, Englefield & Tobin, Solicitors, London and in the legal department of Credit Suisse AG before he joined Baker & McKenzie in 1992. He worked in Baker & McKenzie's Frankfurt office in 1994/1995 and became an international partner of the firm in 1998.
