David has been practising in Asia for over thirty years. He graduated from Cambridge University in 1976. He is admitted in England, Hong Kong and Australia (New South Wales), and has been a resident of Hong Kong since 1980. David is author of Commercial Arbitration in Hong Kong, and has contributed chapters to Arbitration in Hong Kong: A Practical Guide, Arbitration World, and Chitty on Contracts - Hong Kong Volume.
He is a practising arbitrator with experience of over 65 arbitrations across Asia and Europe, in which he has acted variously as sole arbitrator, party-appointed arbitrator and chairman. These have been under the rules of HKIAC, SIAC, CIETAC, ICC, AAA, UNCITRAL, LCIA and PCA.
David is a fellow and former vice president of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators and ex-chairman of the Buildings Appeal Tribunal. He is also on the panels of arbitrators of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, CIETAC (China), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Qingdao Arbitration Commission (China), FACT (India) and APRAG (Asia Pacific).
