He is a key member of the firm's restructuring, bankruptcy and workouts practice with over 10 years' experience handling major cases. He has advised on workouts involving public companies and has particular expertise in working with bondholders. Javier's projects practice is focused on public-private partnerships where he has been involved in the drafting and enactment of statutory provisions of states and municipalities to govern the implementation of such projects, as well as the structuring, bidding process and financings of PPPs, infrastructure and project finance; advising Federal and state governments, governmental agencies, financial institutions, developers, construction and service companies. Javier's banking practice specialises in projects, infrastructure and transportation, specialising in aircraft financing and leasing.
Javier spent a year working at Mayer Brown LLP in New York. He received his LLM (with honours) and Certificate in Management from the Northwestern University School of Law and the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management, having graduated (with honours) as a lawyer from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
