Jorge is a member of the Caracas Bar, the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the Prospectors' and Developers' Association of Canada. He is a former director of the Canadian-Venezuelan Chamber of Commerce and current director of the Canadian-Colombian Chamber of Commerce and he sits on the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Industry and Commerce's (VenAmCham) mining committee, the Venezuelan Mining Chamber and several mining companies.
Jorge has been a lecturer at several mining-related events throughout Latin America and abroad, and adviser to the Venezuelan Congress energy and mines commission. He has helped draft or commented on most Venezuelan mining and environmental regulations, especially those related to energy and natural resources projects. Jorge has represented several international investors in over two-thirds of the most important mining and oil and gas projects in Venezuela and Colombia. He has advised projects in several Latin American countries. His practice includes advice on acquisitions, financing and development of mineral and oil and gas properties in Latin America, and resource-related regulatory matters on corporate structure, taxation and tax planning, environment, labour, foreign investment and privatisations.
