Biography: Corporate Governance

Stefan Simon is partner with Flick Gocke Schaumburg and has significantly shaped the strong development of the corporate/M&A practice over the last decade. Stefan Simon has long lasting experience in serving clients in corporate reorganisations, public and private M&A and corporate finance. He is especially regarded for his work with board members and board committees on all aspects of corporate governance and duties of care. This includes matters of corporate compliance and domestic as well as cross-border investigations.

Stefan Simon's clients are publicly listed companies including, inter alia, well-known members of the DAX-30 and M-DAX family, privately held and family-owned businesses, private equity funds, as well as individual board members and top executives.

Stefan Simon is recognised by JUVE Handbook German Commercial Law Firms as leading corporate rainmaker, by the weekly magazine Wirtschaftswoche as leading German corporate lawyer and by Legal 500 as highly regarded corporate/M&A lawyer.

Stefan Simon is lecturer and professor (hc) at the University of Cologne, editor of the journal Corporate Finance Law, editor of the journal Board, editor of the journal Der Konzern (Corporate Groups), member of the advisory board of the journal Recht der Energiewirtschaft (Law of the Energy Industry) and editor of the Kölner Kommentar Umwandlungsgesetz (commentary on the Reorganisation Act).
