Born in 1977, Grigory Chernyshov studied law at the Law School of the St Petersburg State University (LLM, magna cum laude, 1999) and at the International Law Institute in Washington, DC (2003).
Grigory's areas of practice include commercial litigation and arbitration, M&A and corporate law. Before joining Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners, Grigory worked as in-house counsel. He became a senior attorney at Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners in 2002. He has represented major Russian and foreign companies in corporate conflicts, including successful representation of companies resisting hostile takeovers. In 2007 Mr Chernyshov became partner and head of the litigation department at Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners.
Grigory is a member of the St Petersburg Bar Association, a member of the general council of the non-commercial partnership of Russian antitrust experts 'In Support of Competition Development'.
He is the author of the book Aspects of Corporate Litigation in the Course of Hostile Takeovers, as well as numerous articles in the industry press.
Grigory speaks Russian and English.
