Biography: Private funds

David J Efron is a partner in Schulte Roth & Zabel's investment management group, where he practices in the areas of domestic and offshore hedge funds, including fund formations and restructurings. Additionally, he advises hedge fund managers on structure, compensation and various other matters relating to their management companies, and structures seed capital and joint venture arrangements. Mr Efron also represents hedge fund managers in connection with SEC regulatory issues and compliance-related matters.

Mr Efron is a published author on subjects relating to investment management, and he is a sought-after speaker for hedge fund industry conferences and seminars as well as a frequent guest lecturer at New York-area law schools. Most recently, he spoke at the Maples Investment Funds Forum, and he presented on Crisis Management at the UBS Premier Hedge Fund Client Conference. Mr Efron received his BA from Vassar College, his JD from Syracuse University College of Law and an LLM degree in securities regulation, with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center.
