A leading expert in Arbitration, Ms Medina Garnes also has extensive experience in Administrative, Regulatory, Fiscal, Telecommunication, Antitrust and Commercial Law. During 1982-1986 she was Principal Assistant to the Chief Legal Counsel of the Dominican Presidency. After this experience in public Administration, she was a corporate lawyer for almost 15 years, reaching the position of vice-president-legal of Verizon Dominicana, today CLARO. Since 2004 she has been dedicated to private practice.
She was president of the Disciplinary Board of the Dominican Bar Association (1986), president of the Fundación Institucionalidad y Justicia (FINJUS 2002-2005), professor of the very prestigious Dominican universities, (1982-1992), president of the Board of Trustees of INTEC University (2007-2009) and obtained the award given by the Executive Branch to the Woman of the Year in 2008.
Ms Medina received her law degree, Summa Cum Laude, in 1977, at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña and her master degree at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, in 1981, Grande Distinction.
