Biography: Life Sciences

Mathis Berger graduated from the University of Zurich in 1991 and wrote a doctoral thesis in the area of unfair competition. In 1997, he received his LLM from the University of Chicago. He was admitted to the Bar in 1994 and has practised as a lawyer with firms in Zurich and New York. In 2006, he became one of the founding partners of Nater Dallafior Rechtsanwälte.

In his practice, Mathis Berger specialises in intellectual property, life sciences, information technology, competition and media matters, as well as contracts and corporate matters. He lectures at the University of Zurich, as well as at various postgraduate programmes in intellectual property law, contract law and unfair competition law.

Mathis Berger is the chief editor of sic! the leading Swiss review on intellectual property, information and competition law. He is engaged as a speaker at conferences on topics in the fields of intellectual property, information technology and competition law. He has published numerous articles concerning these areas of law. As the managing director of the Swiss Forum for Communications Law (SF-FS), Mathis Berger also organises and leads conferences and discussions in the aforementioned areas.
