Biography: Arbitration

Peter Wolrich, co-chair of the international arbitration group and managing partner of the Paris office of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, is a recognised leader in the field of international arbitration and dispute resolution. He acts as counsel, chairman of arbitral tribunals, sole arbitrator, or co-arbitrator in ICC, ICSID, LCIA, NIA, Swiss, Stockholm and ad hoc arbitrations, and is active in both commercial and treaty/investor arbitrations. These arbitrations have involved applicable laws of jurisdictions such as Algeria, Canada, Congo, England, France, Gabon, Hong Kong, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Luxembourg, New York and Switzerland, with disputed amounts ranging up to more than US$11 billion. He has served as dispute board chairman and is a CEDR-accredited mediator.

Mr Wolrich has been serving since 2002 as chairman of the ICC Commission on Arbitration. He was chairman of the Task Force on the Revision of the ICC Rules of Arbitration and was one of the principal draftsmen of the 2012 ICC Rules. He was also a principal draftsman of the ICC ADR Rules, the ICC Rules for Expertise, and the ICC Dispute Board Rules. He is a member of the editorial board of the ICC Bulletin.

He regularly publishes articles and speaks at universities and conferences throughout the world, including ICC, International Bar Association (IBA), and Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA) events.

Mr Wolrich is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York and is an Avocat à la Cour de Paris in France. He has been decorated as Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur by the French government.
