Biography: Corporate Tax

Erika Yumi Tukiama is a partner in the direct tax area, with focus on international taxation (foreign investments in Brazil and Brazilian investments abroad).

Erika is a graduate from Universidade de São Paulo – USP (2000) and a postgraduate of Tax Law from Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos Tributários – IBET (2002).

Erika Yumi Tukiama is the author and co-author of articles on domestic and international taxation published in local and foreign publications such as: Netherlands and Luxembourg: Targets of the New Concept of Tax Haven in Brazil? with Juliana Dantas (Loyens & Loeff); "Derivatives & Financial Instruments" - IBFD, Volume 11, Number 2 - March/April 2009; 'Cross-Border Transactions from a Brazilian Perspective' with Isabel Bertoletti, published in The American Lawyer, January 2009; Tax Notes International, Tax Analysts, Vol. 52, Number 10 - December 2008; and Investment Guide: Managing Taxes in Latin America – Brazil with Luís Rogério Farinelli and Fabíola Costa Girão - 2007, 2008 and 2009 - published by CCH.

Erika Yumi Tukiama has been a speaker at several conferences and seminars in Brazil and abroad, and is also an active member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA).
