Biography: Commercial Litigation

Christian Stempfle is admitted as a Rechtsanwalt in Germany and as a solicitor in England and Wales, frequently acting as counsel in international arbitration and mediation. He is a partner in the Munich office of Noerr and member of the firm's litigation department. In particular, his experience spans cross-border litigation, banking and credit crunch litigation, commercial disputes (in particular transport and logistics), white-collar crime and insolvency litigation.

Mr Stempfle advises and represents companies and private individuals nationally and internationally in court cases and arbitrations, including liability and insurance law, transport and logistics, and shareholder and post M&A disputes. He is also active in criminal prevention advice and criminal defence in investigations and trials. Currently he is acting in a number of proceedings arising out of the financial crisis that are likely to be important precedents in developing areas of the law.

Mr Stempfle is vice chair Germany for DRI Europe, a network of corporate defence lawyers and a member of the supervisory board of a Munich software company.

Mr Stempfle publishes extensively and lectures regularly on international litigation and liability. He also conducts training series on litigation and arbitration, product liability, transport and logistics law. He is frequently recommended in publications, including Chambers Global and JUVE.
