Biography: Commercial Litigation

Michael Kramer is a partner at Pestalozzi and their litigation and arbitration group in Zurich. He is specialised in national and international commercial litigation, arbitration and judicial assistance in cross-border disputes. Michael Kramer also serves as an arbitrator in international institutional arbitrations under various rules (such as ICC Rules, Swiss Rules and Vienna Rules) and ad hoc arbitrations.

His cases have involved disputes relating to distribution, joint ventures, agency, financing and licence agreements, as well as M&A transactions in various industries such as banking, pharmaceuticals, insurance, commodities, telecommunications, construction and in the automotive sector. In addition, Michael Kramer's practice includes the litigious aspects of debt collection and bankruptcy law, as well as white-collar crime matters. He has broad experience in asset tracing and freezing.

Michael Kramer, born 1965, received his degrees from the University of Fribourg (lic iur, summa cum laude) in 1991 and from the University of Chicago Law School (LLM) in 1999. He was admitted to the bar in Switzerland in 1992.

Michael Kramer is the author of various articles in the area of international litigation and arbitration. His most recent publications focus on the new Swiss Code of Civil Procedure.
