Biography: Aviation

Ana Luisa Castro Cunha Derenusson has extensive knowledge on regulatory, tax and labour aviation matters. She has particular emphasis on aircraft finance involving commercial and corporate aircraft, executive jets and helicopters, including leveraged lease transactions, loans, chattel mortgages, structured finance and operating leases (cross-border), new and used aircraft purchases, sales, and sale and leasebacks, aircraft securitisation, debt restructuring, manufacturer support arrangements, cross-border financing transactions, engine leasing, repossessions and foreclosure. Further to that, Ms Derenusson has extensive knowledge in the negotiation of international agreements related to aerospace and defence.

Ms Derenusson is the former chairman of the legal and tax committee of the British Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo, Brazil. She is also a member of the aircraft finance subcommittee and the steering group of the transportation committee as well as of the aerospace and defence industries of the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association's aviation committee, and a member of the aeronautical committee of the São Paulo branch of the Brazilian Bar Association. She was a country coordinator of the international committee of the American Bar Association in 1999 and a member of the board of ABAG (the General Association for Civil Aviation).

In the past years, Ms Derenusson has been selected as a leading aviation lawyer in Brazil in the following publications: Chambers, the Expert Guides from the Legal Media Group and The International Who's Who of Aviation Lawyers. She is also an author of several publications in the aviation field.

Ms Derenusson has an LLM from Northwestern University (1996) in Chicago, Illinois.
