Biography: Aviation

Regina Lynch is a founding partner of the Brazilian law firm Motta Fernandes Rocha Advogados. She has a very active practice in cross-border aircraft financing, assisting foreign lessors and lenders in structuring finance and operating lease transactions with Brazilian lessees, involving commercial aircraft, executive jets and helicopters, including tax driven structures. She handles all manner of transactional matters relating to the buying and selling of aircraft, including registration and deregistration issues and procedures. Regina Lynch is also actively involved in litigation regarding repossession of leased aircraft.

Regina Lynch also handles corporate and regulatory matters regarding the setting up and acquisitions of Brazilian airlines and air taxi companies.

Regina Lynch obtained her law degree from the University of São Paulo School of Law in 1976. She obtained her degree of Master of Laws at Columbia University School of Law, New York, in 1978.

Regina Lynch is the previous chair of the aviation law committee of the International Bar Association. She is also an active member of the aircraft financing subcommittee of the American Bar Association.

Regina Lynch is co-author of the chapter on Brazilian Law in Aircraft Finance: Registration, Mortgages and Leasing, edited by Sweet & Maxwell, a regularly updated loose-leaf publication. She is also the co-author of the chapter on Brazilian law in Aircraft Repossession and Enforcement, Kluwer, 2009. She often speaks about aircraft finance at the IBA and ABA conferences, as well as other specialised industry events.
