Biography: Arbitration

João Bosco Lee is a senior partner of Lee, Taube e Gabardo Sociedade de Advogados. He received his law degree from University of Curitiba (UniCuritiba) and his Master's degree and PhD from Université de Paris II. He is a professor of mediation and arbitration at University of Curitiba, as well as a visiting professor at University of Versailles, University of Nancy and University Paris XII.

Mr Lee has participated as counsel on transnational litigation and co-arbitrator, sole arbitrator and chairman under the ICC, Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce -CCBC, ARBITAC, AMCHAM, FGV, FIESP, CAMARB and UNCITRAL rules. Mr Lee is also a member of the Brazilian list of arbitrator of Mercosur.

He is the former president of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee. From 2008 to 2010, he was the chairman of the Câmara de Mediação e Arbitragem da Associação Comercial do Paraná – ARBITAC. Currently, he is the editor of the Brazilian Arbitration Review.

Mr Lee is a member of the ICC Latin America Group, the ICC Brazilian Arbitration Group, the ICC International Arbitration Commission, the French Arbitration Committee, the Venezuelan Arbitration Committee and the International Arbitration Institute. He is also a member of the board of directors of the International Academy for Arbitration Law.

Mr Lee is fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
