Biography: Internet & e-Commerce

Igor Motsnyi is a Russian qualified IP and IT lawyer and founder of Motsnyi Legal Services. Prior to establishing Motsnyi Legal Services Igor Motsnyi worked as in-house counsel in a number of Russian software companies including one of the first internet software distributors in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe, Softkey. Igor also worked as the only IP/IT associate in the Moscow office of White & Case LLP, a US law firm. Igor spent more than three years working as a senior/chief associate in the largest Russian full service law firm and later in the Moscow office of English law firm as associate director. Igor is a Russian trademark attorney.

Igor has extensive experience in a broad range of IP and IT matters including but not limited to trademarks, copyright, know-how, patents, computer software, technology licensing, IP transactions and IP due diligence, personal data, e-Commerce and internet law.

Igor Motsnyi is a member of INTA, ISDEF (Independent Software Developers Forum) and ITechLaw Association and is a local representative of ITechLaw in Russia. Igor is a regular speaker at national and international conferences on law and technology and has numerous publications on IP/IT in English, Russian and Serbian.

Igor also lectured at the MGIMO University in Moscow and the Pericles Law School, Moscow on intellectual property and information technology.
