Biography: Construction

Bruce Reynolds, FCIArb, is chair of the international construction projects group of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. He focuses his practice on both the contentious and non-contentious aspects of construction and surety law. He is a co-author of Scott and Reynolds on Surety Bonds (Carswell, 1993); and a co-author of Construction, Builders and Mechanics' Liens in Canada, seventh edition, (Carswell, 2005).

Mr Reynolds was recently inducted into the American College of Construction Lawyers, an elite membership of top US construction lawyers. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a member of the board of the Surety Association of Canada and a past member of the executive of the Canadian Bar Association construction law section. He was on the executive of the construction law section of the Ontario Bar Association for over 10 years, including two years as chair. He is a former vice chair of the fidelity and surety law committee of the ABA's torts and insurance practice section. He is also a member of ABA's forum on the construction industry.

Mr Reynolds was a founding fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. He has served on the board of governors of the college for 12 years, and served as president in 2002 and 2003. He is also a member of the International Bar Association (ICP committee), and is co-chair of the ICP's project execution subcommittee. He is listed in Martindale-Hubbell with an AV® Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5 Peer Review Rating. Mr Reynolds is also recaognised in The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers, Construction Law (2011), The Best Lawyers in Canada 2012,PLC Which Lawyer? (2011), The 2012 Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, and the 2011 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.
