Biography: Corporate Tax
Reinhard Pöllath has practised as a lawyer for over 30 years. He has worked on hundreds of transactions and assisted in structuring and reviewing more than 100 private equity funds. He has been an adviser to major family offices, investors, trusts and foundations and has been selected annually as a leading tax adviser and M&A lawyer.Reinhard Pöllath obtained an LLM at Harvard as well as a Dr juris degree and is a honorary professor at the University of Münster. He was a partner and counsel of a domestic and an international law firm from 1980 to 1997. From 1993 to 1996 he was an executive director of a client, a hotel and a real estate group and CEO of a client (a major consumer goods group) from 2002 to 2003. He is an author or co-author of numerous publications and chair, committee chair or member of boards of public and private companies. He is involved in pro bono work (eg founder and chair of foundations for third world aid, micro-loans (www.up-micro-loans.de), human rights; Chinese language and culture (www.ex-oriente.org); fundraising for Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (www.maxplanckfoerderstiftung.org); social entrepreneurship). He has two children.
