He has been recognised by Euromoney Institutional Investor's Guide to the World's Leading Product Liability Lawyers, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and The Best Lawyers in Canada as one of Canada's leading litigation counsel. Martindale-Hubbell has also honoured Mr Hordo with an 'AV' (denoting very high pre-eminent legal ability) peer review rating.
In addition to his demonstrated abilities in trial and appellate work, Mr Hordo is a skilled negotiator who has successfully resolved numerous disputes involving hundreds of millions of dollars. Mr Hordo has also lectured on negotiations at the University of British Columbia Law School.
Before practising law, Mr Hordo received a BA from the University of Winnipeg and a MSc from the University of Manitoba. He also served as policy economist with the Manitoba planning and priorities committee of cabinet before entering law school. Mr Hordo studied law at the University of British Columbia, where he was awarded the 1976 Law Society Gold Medal for graduating first in his class.
