Mr Paliare is engaged as counsel in trials, and in appeals before the Divisional Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. He practises extensively in the areas of complex corporate and commercial litigation, securities litigation, class actions, administrative law, public law, Charter of Rights and Constitutional Law litigation, employment law, pension litigation, and white collar crime. He acts on behalf of professionals who have come into conflict with their regulatory agencies.
Mr Paliare was counsel to the Honourable Madam Justice Epstein with respect to the Dionne Quintuplets Review (1998-99).
Mr Paliare received his LLB from Osgoode Hall (1970) and his LLM from the University of Texas at Austin (1971). He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1973, with honours.
Mr Paliare was awarded the Order of Ontario in 2011; he was the recipient of the Law Society Medal in 2004; and the recipient of the Osgoode Hall Law School Alumni Association Gold Key Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2008.
