Ms Rothstein is the co-author of the leading Canadian text on legal malpractice, Lawyers' Professional Liability (Toronto: Butterworths, 1999, 2nd ed.) and 'Professional Liability' (chapter 9) in D Lundy J G MacKenzie and M Newbury, Barristers and Solicitors in Practice, Butterworths, 1998 and a contributor to Archibald & Cochrane (eds) National Annual Review on Civil Litigation 2001.
Ms Rothstein has twice been elected as the Toronto regional bencher (governor) of the Law Society of Upper Canada, and is a past president of The Advocates' Society (2005-2006), having served on its executive committee and as a director. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Litigation Counsel of America.
Ms Rothstein has been selected by the Best Lawyers in Canada (2011) in four litigation specialties: bet-the-company litigation, corporate and commercial litigation, administrative and public law and labour and employment law.
In 2005, Ms Rothstein was awarded the Law Society Medal for distinguished service to the profession. In 2008, she was presented with the "Award of Distinction" by the Toronto Lawyers' Association.
