Biography: Private funds

François is a senior partner and co-founder of Luxembourg business law firm, OPF Partners. He specialises mainly in the area of investment funds, financial regulation and international structuring with a particular focus on private equity and real estate. François co-heads the investment funds department alongside partner, Harold Parize.

With over 20 years of professional experience, François provides advice and assistance with all facets of Luxembourg investment funds, including the creation of regulated investment vehicles such as the venture capital investment company (SICAR), the specialised investment fund (SIF) and UCITS. He also assists with unregulated vehicles as well as the reorganisation of multinational groups.

Throughout his career, François has worked with major organisations such as Svenska Handelsbanken as well as acting as head of legal and tax for RTL Group. He has also worked with Fidelity Investments as senior legal counsel for continental Europe. François has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 1991 and is also a member of The Monterey Funds Club, an alliance of specialist investment fund lawyers across Europe. He is a member of several working groups within ALFI (Luxembourg Fund Association) and is also a member of the board of the LPEA (Luxembourg Private Equity Association). Furthermore, he teaches International Structuring of Real Estate Funds at the Luxembourg Bank Training Institute (IFBL).

François is a regular speaker at many international seminars and events and is also a member of many relevant industry bodies. He is fluent in English, French, German and Luxembourgish and is based in the Luxembourg Office of OPF Partners.
