Biography: Banking

Peter Feyl is a partner in the Vienna office, where he specialises in banking, capital markets, securities and related tax law matters. He represents Austrian and international banks and financial institutions (such as insurance companies and investment fund management companies) in (mainly) transactional work. He regularly deals with all aspects of financing and capital markets transactions (equity and debt), private placements and public offerings, securitisation transactions and questions of securities law. Another focus of his practice is structured finance products.

Peter's practice also includes several listed and unlisted issues of capital for banks and insurance companies (tier-one and tier-two issues), including issues of hybrid tier-one capital for Austrian banks. Peter is also active in other fields of banking law, such as acquisition, project and asset finance, cash-pooling arrangements and mortgaged loans. He advises Austrian and foreign investment funds and asset managers on Austrian investment fund law (including regulatory aspects). His experience also includes mergers and acquisitions of banks as well as corporate finance and public tender offers. Peter graduated from the University of Vienna (Dr iur 1984) and thereafter earned a postgraduate degree from the University of Virginia (LLM 1986). He is a member of the Vienna Bar.
