In the first five years of his practice, he was extensively involved in corporate work including acquisitions, listings, joint ventures and corporate restructuring exercises, as well as corporate and commercial litigation. Since 1999, he has been primarily involved in capital markets and finance work, and has advised extensively on numerous transactions involving project finance, Islamic finance, derivatives, structured finance and securitisation.
Some of the notable capital markets, Islamic finance and structured finance transactions that he has been involved in include Malaysia's first synthetic securitisation, Malaysia's first exchangeable Sukuk, Malaysia's first securitisation of non-performing loans, Malaysia's first Islamic stapled securities, Malaysia's first securitisation of charge and credit card receivables, Malaysia's first municipal bonds as well as numerous initial public offerings, including Malaysia's (and South East Asia's) second largest initial public offering to date.
