He has advised and litigated complex cross-border transactions and tax treaty issues and represented major companies in the tax field. Mr Calderon has also argued cases involving complex tax issues with wide ramifications, which have contributed to the tax jurisprudence of the country.
He graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autonóma de México (UNAM), where he was admitted in 1997. He attended postgraduate studies in the same University. He is studying a PhD in International Taxation at Universidad de Salamanca, Spain.
Mr Calderón is co-author of the books International Treaties to Avoid Double Taxation and Introduction to International taxation, Interpretation of Tax Treaties, Transfer Pricing, theoretical, legal and practical framework, among others.
He is the chairman of the Scientific Committee of the IFA and member of the executive committee. He is also an active member of the tax committee in the Mexican Bar, IBA and Academy of Tax Studies.
He has been mentioned as a leading tax practitioner by the International Tax Review and Chambers and Partners Latin-America.
He has been recognised in several publications as a prominent tax lawyer.
