Mr Hood's practice focuses on corporate, infrastructure, project and other finance and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He is experienced in advising lenders and sponsors on project finance and energy corporate finance deals across Latin America.

Before joining Davis Polk, Stephen was a partner in another major global law firm where at various times he was the partner responsible for its São Paulo, New York and Hong Kong offices, and, from London, its global securities practice.

His recent work highlights include representing: Odebrecht Oil & Gas SA on the EPC contracts and project finance arrangements for drill vessels, Norbe VI, Norbe VIII and IX and ODN I and II; WestLB, Banco Santander and other lenders on export refinancing of US$500 million loan facility to Bahia Speciality Celulose SA; CCR on the financing of São Paulo Ring Road – Rodoanel; Via Quatro - Sistema CCR - Concessionária da Linha 4 do Metrô de SP SA on the project financing of São Paulo Metro Line 4 concession project; and TAM on the 2010 mileage programme spin-off IPO for Multiplus.
