Biography: Trademarks

Kalina is a partner in the IP and labour department at DGKV law firm - one of the largest and most prominent business law firms in Bulgaria, founded in 1994.

Kalina heads the intellectual property practices of the firm, with extensive expertise on major trademark projects in Bulgaria and with respect to the registration and opposition procedure issues, as well as appeals before the Bulgarian Patent Office. She also provides IP law advice to DGKV's prime international and domestic corporate clients. Kalina has extensive expertise as a leading lawyer in major labour and social security, contract law, privatisation, M&A and corporate law, and pharma regulatory projects of the firm.

Kalina has been with DGKV law firm since 1997 and as a partner since 2005. She was admitted to the Bar in 1998, and to the Bar of Trademark and Design Attorneys in 2000. As of 2007 she became a European Trade Mark and Design Attorney. She is a member of International Bar Association; International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI); and International Trademark Association (INTA). From 2008 - 2009 she was an appointed member of the legislation and regulation committee of the INTA Europe & Central Asia subcommittee. She has been a member of The Pharmaceutical Trade Marks Group (PTMG) since 2010.

She is the author of a number of publications on various aspects of intellectual property law.
