Biography: Insurance & Reinsurance

Christian Lang is a partner at Prager Dreifuss Ltd, one of the larger law firms in Switzerland with offices in Zurich and Berne, and one of the first destinations for insurance and reinsurance law. Christian's main areas of practice are insurance, reinsurance, banking and financial services law, complex litigation and arbitration, and international private law. He is also a member of the firm's corporate and M&A practice group. Christian works for clients from the insurance industry, including various underwriters at the Lloyd's market, in non-contentious and contentious matters. He also advises insurance companies and banks in regulatory matters in connection with corporate transactions or their conduct of business in Switzerland.

Christian has been involved in numerous high profile insurance and reinsurance cases in connection with D&O and professional indemnity policies for companies from the financial services industry and Banker's Blanket Bonds. He also has a broad experience in coverage disputes in product liability cases and property, maritime, air freight, and other major losses. He has further advised a number of foreign insurers in entering the market and developing their business in Switzerland.

In addition to his law degree from the University of Zurich, Christian holds an LLM from New York University and is admitted to the New York Bar. He has worked in Switzerland and in New York. Christian is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC, vice chair international section), the Zurich, Thurgau and Swiss Bar associations, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the British Insurance Law Association (BILA), the International Association of Insurance Law (AIDA, board member Swiss chapter), and the Swiss Association for Torts and Insurance Law (SGHVR, board member).
