Biography: Corporate Governance

Frederico Buosi is a partner at Vella Pugliese Buosi e Guidoni – Advogados. He is head of the firm's M&A practice and co-head of corporate practice. VPBG is full service law firm, with a result-oriented business law practice. VPBG's main areas of practice include corporate, M&A, capital markets, litigation, tax, labour and antitrust.

Frederico's practice focuses primarily in M&A, corporate governance and finance. He regularly advises private and publicly-traded companies, managers and shareholders in connection with a broad range of corporate and finance matters. He is particularly active in the private equity and venture capital industry, and has represented funds, shareholders and portfolio companies in some of the most complex PE/VC deals that took place in Brazil. Frederico also specialises in the technology, media and telecom industries and has advised customers and suppliers in several transactions, including outsourcings and procurements.

Frederico received his bachelor's degree in law (LLB, JD equivalent) from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and holds a master's degree in law (LLM) from The University of Chicago, USA. Prior to founding VPBG, Frederico has worked for prominent firms in Brazil and in New York.

Frederico is a professor of corporate and commercial law in a postgraduate course offered by Universidade de Brasília (2010 to 2011). He has also authored articles on corporate law. Frederico is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), the International Bar Association (IBA), and of the section of international law of the American Bar Association (ABA).
