Biography: Construction

Sujjain Talwar is a qualified solicitor in India and England and Wales and has over 20 years of experience as a corporate and infrastructure lawyer and has worked extensively on private sector participation initiatives in various infrastructure sectors in India and internationally. Sujjain spent eight years in London, and is now a partner at Economic Laws Practice (ELP) in India, where he heads the corporate and infrastructure team. Sujjain also serves on the board of directors of several Infrastructure companies in India where he mainly represents the interests of the foreign investors. He brings to the table the striking blend of an in-depth understanding of local laws coupled with international experience in formulating and implementing mergers and acquisitions and various models of public private participation across many infrastructure sectors including water, roads, major and minor ports and airports in India and other countries. Sujjain has, in the past, worked with Craword Bayley & Co, Mumbai, and Pinsent Masons (then known as Masons Solicitors), UK.

His areas of expertise include infrastructure and project finance, corporate commercial laws and documentation, exchange control legislations and real estate.
