Rajiv K Luthra is the founder and managing partner of Luthra & Luthra Law Offices. The firm ranked first in the world in Dealogic Global Review in the category Global PFI/PPP Deals during 2010 and 2009.Mr Luthra was awarded the 'National Law Day Award' by the prime minister of India for his singular contribution to the practice of corporate and commercial law in India and for being one of the country's earliest international transaction law pioneers.
He has been nominated as one of the world's leading lawyers by Chambers Global, Asia Legal Business, IFLR 1000 and Asialaw for his expertise in various practice areas. He has represented companies and financial institutions in numerous infrastructure projects in India, Sri Lanka, China and Bangladesh in energy, telecommunications, airports, aviation, inland ports, toll roads and bridges, SEZs and oil refineries.
Clients he has advised on finance and infrastructure transactions include Arcelor Mittal, Bharti Televentures, Exxon Mobil, ICICI Bank, CitiBank, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, State Bank of India, the government of India, the government of Bangladesh, GMR Infrastructure, Wartsila Development, China Light & Power, Unitech, Korean Telecom, Maersk Sealand, Delhi Airport, Infrastructure Leasing & Finance, Noida Toll Bridge and Kingfisher Airlines.
He is the member of the national committee on energy and the core group on infrastructure development of the Confederation of Indian Industries.
