Christian Hauer jointly heads the intellectual property group of Schoenherr, a leading firm in intellectual property law, and is in charge of the firm's trademark department. He is a member of the juridical committee of the Austrian Federation of Branded Goods Producers, a member of the Austrian Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Protection and a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA).

His practice includes trademark law, unfair competition, food and drug, pharmaceuticals, patents and EC law. He is a member of the Austrian Codex Alimentarius Committee. He is author of Austrian Food Law and European Union, co-author of International Trademark and Sign Protection, co-author of the "Commentary on Austrian Food Law" and author of numerous articles on food and drug, trademark and competition law. Mr Hauer speaks German and English.
