Eduardo's antitrust advisory practice includes advice on the antitrust consequences of multiple types of business transactions, joint ventures, pricing, marketing, distributorship and contractual issues. Given that one of the members of the firm is a former minister of finance of Colombia, director of the western hemisphere department of the IMF and executive director of the World Bank, Eduardo and his team frequently advise clients on the intersection between antitrust and economics and antitrust and intellectual property.
Eduardo received his JD from Universidad de los Andes in 1990 and, with a full scholarship from the Inter-American Development Bank graduate scholarship programme, earned an LLM with merit from the LSE in 1992. He was a member of the Colombian team at the Philip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in 1987 and has been a judge at that competition court several times. A member of the ABA's antitrust section, the International Bar Association and ASIL, he has written articles for the Inter-American Law Review and the ABA's International Antitrust Bulletin. In 2011 he was invited by the section of antitrust of the ABA to be a speaker at its Antitrust in the Americas Conference in Rio de Janeiro. He was recently elected to be one of the four members of the executive committee of Legalink, the world's leading network of independent law firms.
