Mr Siffert is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and served on its board of regents. He was a member of the departmental disciplinary committee, and continues to be a special master for the first department, appellate division. Mr Siffert serves on the nominating committee and honours committee of the City Bar Association and previously served on its executive committee. He was president of the Federal Bar Council Inn of Court and chair of the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest.
He has been appointed by the federal courts to be escrow agent for an insider trading disgorgement fund and special discovery master in a complex civil litigation. He was the SEC approved independent counsel for MBIA.
Mr Siffert is an adjunct professor at New York University Law School. He has co-authored treatises entitled Business Crime (Matthew Bender, 1981), Modern Federal Jury Instructions Civil and Criminal (Matthew Bender).
From 2006 - 2010, Mr Siffert was named by Super Lawyers as one of the top 100 lawyers in New York City, and was named as one of the top 10 lawyers in 2008. He is the 2009 recipient of the Second Circuit American Inns of Court Professionalism Award.
