Biography: Life Sciences

Dr Kornelia Nagy-Koppany is co-managing partner of KNP LAW. Her practice focuses on life sciences, international commercial transactions, and administrative regulatory matters. Besides domestic and international pharmaceutical companies, her clients include educational and government institutions.

Dr Nagy-Koppany represented international companies in M&A, advised international investors in the pharmaceutical, insurance and telecommunication sectors, and assisted clients in establishing and successfully operating Hungarian business ventures. She negotiated inter-governmental agreements on legal status recognition, tax, customs and social security matters and advised the Hungarian government on the first free market economy, post-1990 bankruptcy code.

Dr Nagy-Koppany clerked for the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York in 1988 and 1989. She has been associated with US law firms since 1989 and established KNP LAW in 2006.

She received her JD, summa cum laude, from Eotvos Lorand University Faculty of Law in Budapest, Hungary, her Masters in international comparative law from Faculté Internationale de Droit Comparé in Strassbourg, France, and her LLM in corporation law from New York University School of Law.

Dr Nagy-Koppany is a member of the Budapest, the District of Columbia and the International Bar Associations. She participates in the work of the European Union Committee of the US Council for International Business and authors the Hungary chapter of the American Bar Association's annual international antitrust publication. Dr Nagy-Koppany is a founding member of the Women Business Leaders Section of the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum and board member of the Association for Women's Career Development in Hungary.
