Biography: Life Sciences

Andrea Mondini is a partner of Schellenberg Wittmer and heads the firm's intellectual property and information technology team. His main areas of practice include litigation and arbitration of intellectual property disputes with a particular focus on life sciences and on the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry. He represents major pharmaceutical, diagnostics and biotechnology corporations in IP litigation and arbitration proceedings and advises them on licensing, R&D, technology transfer and distribution agreements.

Andrea Mondini graduated from the School of Law of the University of Zurich in 1987 and obtained a Master of Laws from Georgetown University in 1995. He joined Schellenberg Wittmer as an associate in 1992 and also worked as a foreign associate with Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner in Washington, DC. In 2000, he became a partner at Schellenberg Wittmer.

Andrea Mondini has authored and co-authored several publications on intellectual property, information technology, and life sciences, such as the chapter on Switzerland in the International Comparative Legal Guide to Pharmaceutical Advertising. He is a panellist with the World Intellectual Property Organization Arbitration and Mediation Center for Internet Domain Names and is a member of INTA, LES and AIPPI.
