Bill Richardson is a partner with Baker & McKenzie LLP and the head of the firm's intellectual property litigation practice in Canada. As both a barrister & solicitor, he has practiced litigation for more than 25 years covering a broad range of business related disputes, including competition, trade, and intellectual property, in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals and life sciences, consumer goods, electronics, chemicals, oil and gas, energy, forestry products, broadcasting, entertainment and government. He is one of the very few litigators in Canada to have been lead counsel in trials involving copyrights, trademarks and patents. He is a trial and appellate lawyer with special experience coordinating litigation disputes that are fought simultaneously in several different jurisdictions. Mr Richardson's specific practice focus is on the pharmaceutical and life science sector, providing clients with strategic advice utilising B&M's global platform.

Mr Richardson is a frequent speaker and writer on litigation related matters and is a lecturer on intellectual property law at both the University of Toronto and York University Law Schools.
