Biography: Commercial Litigation

Mikhail Ilyashev is a managing partner at Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm. He specialises in commercial litigation, corporate law, mergers and acquisition, international law, labour law, intellectual property, business law, general practice, energy law, hostile takeovers, international arbitration. He attended the Institute of International Relations of the Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University, International Law Faculty (Master of International Law).

Mikhail Ilyashev has been awarded as an Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine by the President of Ukraine Decree. He has been recognised as one of the best lawyers in Ukraine by international directories; The European Legal 500, IFLR 1000, PLC Which Lawyer? and Who's Who Legal: CIS 2010. He is a president of the Ukrainian Law Firms Association and a member of the Kiev City Bar Association.

His recent work includes representation of investors in acquisition, support of restructuring of the company; due diligence regarding IPO of PZU SA; representation of owners of holder of 44 per cent of shares of Kyivstar GSM (leading GSM operator in Ukraine) in corporate dispute with Telenor (owner of 56 per cent of Kyivstar shares); consulting regarding employee's benefits and dismissal for Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine etc.

He is the author of over 100 publications in leading legal and business magazines including international publications. He speaks English, Russian and Ukrainian.
