Biography: Arbitration

Mr Vodolazkin joined Sayat Zholshy & Partners in 2001, becoming a partner in 2003, and has been the managing partner since January 2008. He is currently head of litigation and arbitration.

Vitaliy Vodolazkin has participated in numerous large litigations in courts of all levels in the Republic of Kazakhstan, representing subsoil users, companies operating in the phosphorous industry, leading food processing companies and a major telecommunications company in connection with matters relating to unlawful additional assessment of taxes. He has also represented a leading Kazakhstan bank in connection with its projects related to toxic assets and represented a major international subsoil service company in connection with settlement of disputes with contractors. Mr Vodolazkin has participated in numerous litigations in connection with recovery of accounts receivable from clients operating in various sectors and has protected clients acting as shareholders in various disputes arising from their shareholders' agreements, etc.

The litigation team of Sayat Zholshy & Partners headed by Mr Vodolazkin was named the Litigation Team of Years 2009 and 2010 in Kazakhstan. He is a member of the Kazakhstan International Court of Arbitration. Mr Vodolazkin speaks Russian, English and German.
