Ewald gained his law degree from from Estácio de Sá University and an LLM in corporate law at Indiana University, USA, where he studied from 1984 to 1986. He was previously a foreign associate at Crady, Jewett & McCulley, in Houston, Texas, from 1986 to 1987.
Mr Veiega was a professor of economic law on the postgraduate course at Cândido Mendes University from 1992 to 1996 and a professor of corporate law on the postgraduate course in corporate law of the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets from 2002 to 2004.
He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro branch (1987) and São Paulo branch (1994); Michigan Bar, USA (1988); American Bar Association; Brazilian Association of Financial Law; International Fiscal Association; and Brazilian Institute of Antitrust Law.
