She has represented exporters and importers across several industries such as rubber chemicals, tyres, paper, glass, steel and capital goods in antidumping and safeguard duty cases in India. She has advised the Ministry of Commerce in countervailing duty proceedings initiated by the EC on exports of steel from India. Most recently she represented the three largest Indian exporters of antibiotics in an expiry review initiated by the EC where the investigation was terminated and duties repealed.
She has advised the government on several WTO issues such as compatibility of member state subsidies, legality of customs seizures of generic medicines, scope of IP protection in FTAs, WTO compatibility of indigenous manufacturing policies, fisheries subsidies, dual pricing of natural resources, GATS and NTBs.
Apart from trade, Ms Joshi also advises clients on antitrust and FCPA matters.
Ms Joshi graduated from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, with a graduating class Gold Medal in intellectual property law. She pursued her LLM at the George Washington University Law School, Washington, DC, where she was awarded the Rule of Law Fellowship. She is admitted to practice in India and New York.
She regularly takes courses on trade remedies at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi and is visiting faculty at the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
