Emery Kalamba worked for eight years at a Washington DC-based law firm Duncan, Allen & Mitchell, where he handled various projects in the sector of foreign investments. Emery is the managing partner of Kalamba & Associes, a member of Kananga and Kinshasa Bars. He was vice minister of justice (1994), and assumed the functions of legal advisor in charge of mining for the vice premier minister of mines (1996) and for the governor of the Central Bank (1997 to 1999). He is currently a senator and vice president of the Commission of Foreign Affairs.
