Biography: Mining

Mr Muñoz was born in Santiago, Chile and studied at the University of Chile Law School, where he received his JD in 1993. In the subsequent years, he received a certificate in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Chile (1995), in addition to a certificate in International Transactions and Financing (1997), and a certificate in Foreign Exchange (1998), the latter two from the School of Post-Graduate Studies, Financing, Law and Taxation of New York University. In 1999, he was awarded a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Catholic University of Chile.

Additionally, Mr Muñoz is a member of the Chilean Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.

Mr Muñoz concentrates his practice in providing legal counsel on numerous mining exploration projects, regarding matters ranging from corporate organisation, foreign investment, mining concessions, surface and water rights, project financing, construction and operations, to enlisting processes on different stock exchanges markets.

He is a founding partner of the law firm Núñez, Muñoz & Cía Ltda, Abogados, based in Santiago, Chile. Mr Muñoz is fluent in Spanish and English.
