Biography: Mining

Bruce Dickinson is a partner in the Africa mining and energy projects practice at Webber Wentzel. He advises clients on the structuring of mining projects, M&A transactions, tax issues, the financing of mining projects and cross-border transactions in the mining industry across Africa. He is also a trustee of several trusts in the mining industry.

Bruce has advised companies such as Vale, Anglo American, Barrick and Impala Platinum and his work has covered among others, mining projects in Angola, Botswana, DRC, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Bruce has also advised various Indian and Chinese investors in respect of their investments onto the continent.

He has been a speaker at various mining conferences and courses, has published a number of articles and is recognised as a leader in his field by various prominent domestic and international journals. Bruce is admitted as an attorney in South Africa and a solicitor in England & Wales. He gained his BA and LLB degrees from the University of Natal, completed a course in Prospecting and Mining Law at the University of the Witwatersrand and has a Higher Certificate in Financial Markets and Instruments.
