Biography: Mining

Mr Lambert S Djunga has concentrated his practice on all aspects of commercial investment matters with emphasis in the areas of mining and petroleum projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In this respect, Mr Lambert S Djunga's work involves the representation of major international mining, oil, banking and commercial companies in their activities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He has assisted and continues to assist foreign and domestic investors in the negotiations of several mining, petroleum, power plants, and manufacture investment contracts with the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo. From 1982 to 1987, he counselled the Consortium INGA-SHABA, comprise of Morrison-Knudsen and Fischbach and Moore, in all legal aspects of the construction and maintenance of the High Voltage Transmission Line INGA – KOLWEZI, in the Province of Katanga. In the telecommunications areas, Mr Djunga, has advised Celtel DRC in a transaction relating to financing of equipment from Ericson in 2011 and Celtel DRC tax issues in 2005. He also advised Telkom SA in its JV with the DRC national operator OCPT. Mr Djunga assisted CDB in financing TIGO (Millicom Local subsidiary) and CCT (ZTE JV with the DRC government). Recently, Mr Djunga assisted expertise covers also corporate matters, taxation and day-to-day banking operations of local subsidiaries of international banks.

Mr Lambert S Djunga was a member of the constitutional committee and of economy and finance committee of the transitional parliament from 1993 to 1997. He authored an article on "Registration of a branch of a foreign company in the Democratic Republic of Congo" published by Lex Africa 2004.
