Michael Best is a partner with P+P Pöllath + Partners. He has been a tax consultant since 1992 and a partner in various German law and tax firms since 1996. He studied at the University of Munich and obtained a Dr Juris degree at the University of Augsburg. He was admitted to the German Bar in 1988.

He specialises in domestic and international tax law, in particular structural and ongoing tax aspects of private equity funds including tax matters of the investors and carried interest holders as well as tax structuring of cross-border acquisitions and real estate transactions. He has published numerous articles in professional journals on these subjects and is consistently ranked among the top lawyers for his tax and private equity expertise.
